Andrew C. Wood focuses his practice primarily on patent litigation, leveraging his keen understanding of a variety of technologies to help protect the intellectual property interests of his clients. He has worked with clients in diverse areas including GPS electronics, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage packaging, and building materials.

As a member of prior litigation teams Andrew assisted a pharmaceutical manufacturer with ANDA/Hatch-Waxman litigation, drafted and filed briefs in the Circuit Court of Cook County and Illinois Court of Appeals, took depositions, and prepared opinion letters. He also has experience with patent portfolio monetization, analyzing and applying patent claims and drafting explanations of complex technologies for clients.

Before joining Fitch Even, Andrew worked as an associate at a Midwest-based litigation defense law firm. While attending DePaul University College of Law, he served as a patent extern to the Honorable Amy St. Eve of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.



Bullets2Bandages, LLC v. Caliber Corp. (S.D. Cal. 2018). Member of litigation team currently representing defendant/counter-plaintiff asserting breach of contract, trademark infringement, unfair competition, and related state law claims, while defending against breach of contract, unfair competition, and other state law claims.

Lucky Shot USA, LLC v. Caliber Corp. (M.D. Fla. 2018). Member of litigation team currently representing defendant/counter-plaintiff asserting trademark infringement, unfair competition, and related state law claims, while defending against declaratory judgments counts seeking court declarations that defendant does not unfairly compete, plaintiff’s trademark is invalid, and that defendant does not infringe.

Lone Star Silicon Innovations v. Toshiba Corp. et al. (N.D. Cal. 2017). Member of team currently representing Lone Star in asserting infringement of several patents related to semiconductor products and their methods of formation. Assisted in the drafting of oppositions to motions to dismiss in the district court litigation and drafting of oppositions to institution of inter partes review for multiple related IPR petitions. Assisted in the preparation of an appellate brief for filing with the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals.

United States Gypsum Co. v. National Gypsum Corp. (D. Del. 2017). Member of litigation team currently representing plaintiff USG in asserting infringement of several patents related to lightweight gypsum boards and their methods of formation. Assisted in the drafting of plaintiff’s response to defendant’s objection to magistrate judge’s report and recommendation denying defendant’s motion to dismiss four counts of the complaint. Assisting in pre-trial discovery processes.

Industrial Print Technologies v. Hewlett-Packard Co. et al. (N.D. Tex. 2015–18). Member of team currently representing plaintiff asserting infringement of patents related to high-speed industrial printing. Assisted in drafting of briefs in support of Daubert motions.

Spire Inc. v. Cellular South, Inc. (S.D. Ala. 2017). Member of litigation team that represented plaintiff/counter-defendant seeking a declaratory judgment of non-infringement and trademark invalidity. Assisted in drafting of opposition to a motion for a temporary restraining order that was denied. The parties reached a settlement and the case was dismissed with prejudice.

Member of litigation team that represented generic-side pharmaceutical manufacturer in ANDA/Hatch-Waxman litigation in the District of Delaware.

Drafted and filed briefs in Circuit Court of Cook County and Illinois Court of Appeals, representing large insurance companies in workers' compensation matters.

Presented oral argument in appellate proceeding before the Circuit Court of Cook County in workers’ compensation matter.
