Jennifer L. Soerensen is a patent agent based in Fitch Even’s Chicago office. She assists with the preparation and prosecution of U.S. and foreign patent applications, including analyzing prior art, conducting patentability and freedom-to-operate searches and analyses, preparing applications, and preparing application amendments and responses to USPTO actions.

Jenn works with clients in diverse industries that include chemicals and chemical engineering, biotechnology, food and beverage processing and packaging, and agricultural products. Her prior experience as a patent paralegal with Fitch Even provided a basis for her familiarity with our clients and an understanding of their needs and goals.

Earlier in her career, Jenn spent several years in academia, teaching undergraduates and engaging in research. Through that experience she honed her ability to identify and outline issues insightfully, to break down and explain concepts with subtlety, and to argue rigorous subject matter persuasively—all skills she draws on when advocating for an invention’s patentability.
