John M. Naber strives to develop long-term relationships with clients as he works with them to help ensure the growth and success of their businesses. His clients come from a diverse range of business sectors, including automotive component manufacturing in the U.S. and internationally, as well as food and beverage products, foot care products, and computer software. John relies on a similarly diverse range of technical skills in counseling his clients, with emphasis in mechanical technology, the life sciences area (biotechnology and pharmaceuticals), chemical technology and related nanotechnology applications, and software development.
The services John provides to his clients encompass both IP and business disciplines. He has handled IP due diligence matters in mergers and acquisitions, as well as in such transactions as licensing and supply agreements. He also is involved in managing extensive patent and trademark portfolios. On the prosecution side, John is extensively involved in patent and trademark preparation, and he regularly provides clients with product clearance and legal opinions.
John has held intellectual property leadership positions in the State Bar of Michigan and the Federal Bar Association for the Michigan Western District. He is a frequent author on IP-related topics, particularly in the life sciences area.
