Fitch Even Partner Joe Nabor Speaks at ISBA Program on Author Rights

Fitch Even partner Joseph T. Nabor was a featured presenter at the CLE program “Protecting and Preserving Author Rights in Today’s Market—and After Death: Contracts, Digital Publishing & Literary Estates,” presented by the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA) Intellectual Property and Trusts and Estates Sections on June 5, 2015, in Chicago. The program was cosponsored by the Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA).

Joe presented two sessions: “Characters, Place, and Thing Names” and “Multi-Media: Graphics, Sounds, Audiovisuals.” During these sessions, Joe discussed trademark and branding issues connected with these aspects of science fiction media.

Founded in 1877, the ISBA, a voluntary organization with more than 30,000 members, assists Illinois lawyers in the practice of law and promotes improvements in the administration of justice. SFWA, a nonprofit organization founded in 1965, serves over 1,800 authors, artists, editors, and allied professionals focusing on science fiction, fantasy, and related genres.
